Re: RKMC - KODI fork for RK3xxx devices running Android 5.1/

FWIW, I have since upgraded to followmsi's BOX64 version which ships with KODI 17 and seems every bit as good as RKMC *and* supports USB audio output, so the above info is really for those who don't wish to upgrade their whole install but want newer KODI. I would think it is possible to use a newer ...

Re: Update.IMG_dualOS_Marshmallow-BOX64_Lubuntu_v170117

Can anyone confirm whether the USB sound/audio card issue (not working in Geekbox/KODI/RKMC) is fixed in this 'ROM', cannot find any confirmation here or over in the [url]Freaktab thread to confirm http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-support/rk3688-devices-aa/geekbox/firmware-roms-tools-bd/570479-an...

RKMC - KODI fork for RK3xxx devices running Android 5.1/6.0

I find that I use my Geekbox for watching video mainly, so having a recent version of KODI installed and working smoothly is important to me, to that end I just had a try of James Lin's fork of KODI v16.1 - RKMC (James Lin works for Rockchips AFAIK), and so far on my stock Lolipop 5.1 install, it se...

Re: What is the most stable ROM today?

Dare I say it? For me the pre-installed ROM I guess. I'm still using it until reports indicate that newer versions (that support GPU acceleration so Android basically) can run Kodi without issue...until then...depends on your requirements really, for some graphics performance is not an issue (not su...

Which input device you using [Keyboard/airmouse/trackpad]?

So the remote that comes with the Geekbox is useful for the very basic control functions but for text input or mouse/pointer control I'm sure most of us are using something else to interface with the device, for me that is from the sofa for the most part. I purchased a no-name mini wireless keyboard...

Re: Flash/upgrade firmware using Linux?

Hey that's great news! I'm guessing you already had any required udev rules in place for the RK3288 devices on your system, or is this chipset supported ootb in the newer Linux kernel versions like in Ubuntu 14.04? If so I should really get round to upgrading my neglected installs!
